Faith formation is the preparation of individuals to live as disciples of Jesus. It informs and transforms people to follow the way of life in a special way, that identifies them as followers of Jesus. Faith formation will help children to grow in a close relationship with God in success and failure during their entire life. It will help them to develop an understanding of Bible teachings, Catholic rituals, and traditions.
As a Knanaya community, Sacred Heart Church faith formation includes Knanaya history, tradition, and culture in their spiritual practices. Faith formation encourages children to participate in the liturgy of the church actively and consciously. It will form the minds of the children to pray with faith, repentance, thanksgiving and understanding the meaning of Liturgy, Sacraments, and other spiritual ceremonies. Faith formation motivates people to bear witness to their faith in their words and deeds.
A spirit of simplicity, humility, concern for the under privileged, mutual forgiveness and Godly love that embraces their good attitudes. Catechism is Christ centered. According to CCC 427, every catechist should be able to apply to himself the mysterious words of Jesus: “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me”.
