Romans 12:21 says “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” As Christians we are blessed with the ability to witness and know the True God but what happens when we are being attacked by evil? As humans, we tend to run, hide or worry when faced with problems, but Christ teaches us to be courageous and strong. Christ wants us to do amazing things in our lifetime. Inspired by the words of His Holiness Pope Leo XIII “The salvation of India is in her sons”, P.C Abraham (who is also called as Kunjettan) and his team of 7 leaders set out on a mission to help the children grow and live in the love of Christ.

Mission league with its humble beginning in Kerala, is now the biggest missionary organization for lay people under the patroness of St. Therese of Lisieux. It was officially inaugurated on October 3, 1947 by Bishop Mar Thomas Tharayil. The aim of this group is to enhance the missionary spirit within our children from grades 5 to 8, and to increase their participation in the mission activities of our church. It is also a way to develop their interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and promote their vocation in Christ through different fun activities, and programs organized by the members. By volunteering to help the needy in our society, praying and playing with their friends, these children will learn to enhance the missionary spirit and participate in the missionary activities of the church. Love, Sacrifice, Service, and Suffering is the motto of Mission League and using these gifts, our children will spread the love of Christ, and make the world a better place one step at a time.

Here are some of the activities that the mission league children from our parish took an initiative to conduct: -monthly mass and get together -birthday celebrations every month -mission league choir -movie night and fun games and activities -mission Sunday lotto fundraiser Along with these activities they also joined hands with Holy Childhood ministry, Teen ministry, and Youth ministry for the following activities: -participating in all saints and Knanaya quiz -visiting cemetery on All Souls’ Day -one day picnics and visits to see religious shows and concerts.
